XEmacs Editor

Since, I mentioned Emacs. Now, I'll mention XEmacs.

Why do I like it?

  • Very powerful
  • Runs on any platform
  • It has more extensibility (capability) than Vim. It's extensions for instance.
  • Easy to add my own Keyboard Definitions (bindings).

What don't I like?

  • Tends to load slow, at first time. It is a huge app.
  • Vim does beat it for simple speed & available as "a small package" on almost anything.
  • Initial Configuration. Changing the font, picking background colors, and setup of your own Key Bindings.
