Ghostscript, GSview

What is Ghostscript? Why use Ghostscript?

= It is free and an open suite of software for making, printing, displaying, and sharing the Portable Document Format (PDF) and PostScript (page description) languages.

= If you "truly want" your writing to be "viewable by anyone" on a computer? PostScript data is the way to go. Though, it is usually converted to PDF, for easier exchanges.

Any Linux system comes with it, if you install it. Windows version are freely available, also.

If you don't care to perform PDF Editing? GS is all you need to create & make printable reports.

This is why, you see "big-prime-list.ps", "masters-thesis222.ps.tgz", and listings of blank.ps files on Academic sites.
