The price of gas has affected us all. Myself, traveling less than 40 miles a day is not a problem. However, if you were in Los Angeles? What can you do?
- Don't misread the horn
- Don't change lanes in slow traffic
- I disagree: Make eye contact when you can
- Limit commute time
- Remember, no one owns a parking space
- Driving requires thinking
- Late merging is Ok
- Treat all cyclists the same
- Learn from Race Drivers (Don't just look, if it is clear, to make a turn. Consider where you are turning to, if it is clear ahead, or "no pedestrians about" to walk in front of your travel.)
- Refrain from the cell phone. Use as little as possible. If it is a long deep conversation, go park!

Hmmm. Can't say I agree with these points. (1) If I am driving, around town, it "always takes" longer than 16 minutes - even one way. [on 4] (2) If in the Twin Cities? You could be driving for 45 minutes till an hour or so. (3) Yes, "people need to use" their brain - while driving. [on 6[
(4) Don't use the cell phone. Get it out of your ear. Pay attention to and respect the road. (5) Be advised Pedestrians always have the right of way. However, "outright walking" in the middle of a road with a Cell phone on their head. Doesn't make it easy, to stop - depending how close they are before "you can see them."
(6) Obey the traffic laws, is my number one caveat. If the speed limit is 35 and road conditions are normal. (No snow, ice, strong rain storm.) Then, go at least 5 mph within (under) the speed limit.
(7) Carpool, find people to share a ride with, make them pay for sharing. (8) Consider public transportation. Try it out, if even just once or twice? Evaluate.
